welcome to our sweet little home. i’m not entirely sure how long we’re gonna be here. at least till august ’cause that what our lease says, but we have been playing around with the idea of moving closer to Lane’s work and/or buying a home. part of me is on board and another part of me (the part that hates packing all the things) is not. but thats like a year away…right?
when we found out Lane was getting transferred we had about 1 month from the time we got back from our honeymoon to move. and one weekend to come to atlanta and find a home. no joke. and the worst part is, the home that we did find fell through. the week before we were moving. there was a lot of chocolate consumed by yours truly the day that phone call came in.
so 1 week before we pack-up our entire lives and drive to a new city and state we have no where to be driving to. i had nightmares of pulling into atlanta and having to just park it at an abandoned parking lot and live out of our uhaul for a month. thank goodness we didn’t have to do that. we found this home, explained the situation to the agency and they approved us the next day. and considering we hadn’t actually seen the house before our move-in day, we lucked out. big time.
it’s a very open floor plan, which i love. i can be in the kitchen cooking and still enjoy chatting it up with my hubby. it’s a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. one bedroom was kept as a guest room since both our families live out of town and the other bedroom is our study. sounds fancier than it is. but, as ugly as that blue chair is, it is crazy comfy.
most of my writing and work is done reclining in that lovely chair. the guest room is usually dominated by the girls, napping. but occasionally they will give-up their domain for our overnight guests. for a small fee, of course.
and yes, that is paddington bear in the corner. he’s my fav. the quilt in our bedroom was a wedding gift from my sweet and awesome and wonderful mom. we got it on our trip to the Pennsylvania Amish country. since Lane’s favorite color is green and mine is blue it worked out perfectly!
and of course, my two favorite rooms in the house:
the dining room and kitchen. i think the dining room wins first prize though because that is where i do most of my eating…
and this is my little domain where all the magic happens…OK, OK, mostly messes and a little magic.
as you can see, lots of light and lots of space for the four of us! one day we’re gonna repaint the furniture and make everything a bit more modern and funky, but for now its just perfect. especially considering about 90% of our furniture was donated to us by amazing friends and family. as we go through updates i’ll post photos. but for now, thanks for stopping by! join us next Saturday for our meet the team post- Lane, Holly, Ivy and i will answer all the questions you never had about ourselves!
